Losing Undesired COVID Weight on a Busy Schedule

As a busy mum of three, I understand the constant pressure to maintain a weight you feel comfortable with. It often feels like no matter how hard you try, nothing seems to work. One week you feel great and the next you don’t. Of course, periods don’t help with water retention, fluctuation or bloat!
Since having my three children via IVF (within nineteen months of each other), I have gained a stone (14lbs), which doesn’t sound like much, however it changes the way I feel about myself and lowers my self-esteem. I keep waiting to buy new clothes, until I feel more comfortable, however I haven’t got there yet.
Back in 2019, I went on an Isagenix detox for two months and got down to my pre-birth weight. I felt so good! But then Covid hit and not only did the weight go back on, but I also put on more during lockdown. Who didn’t, right?
For me I want to feel good again, refreshed, well-slept and alive. I’m sharing what I am doing and how I have changed my mindset because I know many people like me may feel uncomfortable for whatever reason – and tired following Covid. So this could resonate.

Treat your body with kindness
The best thing you can do is be kind and patient with your body. It’s doing an amazing job going through fertility treatment / preparing for and maintaining pregnancy. Remember that you are doing your best and your best is enough.

What worked during my TTC journey?
Initially, when I was trying to conceive and wanted to lose some weight hoping to boost IVF success, I took up jogging. This was as simple as walking a little faster when I took my dog for a walk each morning. It was something small that I could fit into my daily routine without having to change my schedule. This helped me reach the goal I wanted at the time.
Exercise and diet are a great way to help maintain a healthy lifestyle. The issue is finding time, but you don’t need to overcomplicate it. Your exercise doesn’t need to be excessive or exhausting or it’s hard to keep up and only moderate exercise is recommended (speak to your fertility provider).
What I’ve tried post pregnancy
Following the lockdown exhaustion and the creeping on of pounds, I have decided it is time to act again. I want to feel comfortable once more.
