6 Quotes To Remind You of Your Strength
Eloise Edington | 23 Mar 2021
Everyone’s fertility journey will look and feel different from each other. Due to a lack of shared experience, friends and family may not always say the right words (or know what to say) to make you feel supported or reassured. That’s to be expected of course; as they have experienced neither the highs, nor the lows, of your (in)fertility journey, so people around are likely to be limited in the ways they can help you.
What your parent, friend, or sibling has to say may not be quite what you need to hear, but — thanks to the internet — there will always be someone out there (online) who has had similar experiences to yourself. Whether you’re in need of encouragement, comfort, or a reminder that you are not alone, inspirational quotes; excerpts from books; and even poetry are an excellent way to keep your spirits high.
In a previous blog post, we wrote about the ways in which fertility quotes can motivate you in your quest to conceive. Here are some of our favourite quotes found on Pinterest and Google to keep you strong for wherever you are in your fertility journey.

‘Trust the timing of your life’
In the wake of social media, it’s become more difficult than ever to extract our friend’s authentic selves from their curated feed of pancakes, special occasions, and familial highlights. Advice like, ‘stop comparing yourself to other people’, is easier said than done when all it takes is the click of a button, to drag up your domesticated goddess of a friend from school and everything she has been up to for the past 7 years.
This quote is a gentle reminder that we are all on different paths, walking at different paces. It’s essential, especially when you’re trying to conceive, to trust the timing of your own life. You’re exactly where you need to be right now. Not to mention, that person you envy online also has someone they envy and stalk on their social media, and it goes on.

‘Even miracles take a little time’
The media, films, sex education classes, and Instagram will have you believe that falling pregnant is as simple as A, B, C. It may only be when you decide to start thinking and researching into fertility to prepare for your own pregnancy that reality comes into view: for many people, conceiving a child comes with challenges — it takes time. Have patience with yourself.
‘Always remember, you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think’
When I typed into google ‘Winnie The Pooh Quotes’, I didn’t expect there to be so many wholesome nuggets of wisdom. There are quotes to warm the heart and soul and I recommend you to have a read of them yourself after finishing this article. This particular affirmation stood out because it allows room to reflect on how far you have come on your fertility journey; be proud of how strong and brave you are and have been! Believe in yourself.

‘What feels like the end is often the beginning’
Sometimes, when unexpected or difficult situations arise, it can feel like the end. It’s important to allow ourselves to feel the pain, sadness, grief, or any other emotion that may crop up, but try not to live there. Your life has not stopped. This may be the beginning of something you’d never imagined to happen…
‘With a baby or without, you are valuable, you are whole, and you matter’
Whether you’re a parent already, single but hoping to be a parent soon, trying to conceive, or somewhere in between, that doesn’t change how valuable you are. You are important. That is an unchanging fact completely independent of your fertility journey — don’t forget that.

When the world says, ‘give up’, Hope whispers, ‘try one more time’
People rely on hope to reach the other side of the most tumultuous of times. If this past year has taught us anything it’s that hope is an undeniably powerful feeling; it’s what has got us through this period of isolation and disconnect.
This gorgeous quote may be applicable to many situations but it’s especially prevalent for people who want to conceive. In trying times, this may be the perfect quote to write in your daily wellness journal, or why not print it out and stick it somewhere you will be able to come back to read. Hope is the antidote to fear after all.

Quotes can provoke a whole range of emotions, but their ultimate purpose is to instill a sense of hope in people. Inspirational quotes can help to lift your spirits as well as make you feel seen and heard by others. Quotes are particularly important because they withhold different meanings to different readers, so they will always feel and be unique to your life and experiences. They can connect you to others and, most importantly, to yourself. That is the most comforting fact for people, especially when it comes to fertility help.
