Peanut-buttery, vanilla, maple and cacao bliss balls? Yes please!

Expert nutritionist Stefanie Valakas shares a mouth-watering, healthy and fertility-friendly snack to enjoy, at home or out and about. And the best bit, for us? There’s not a food processor in sight.

Stefanie is an Australia-based Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist, and director of The Dietologist, a private practice focused on nourishing growing families from conception-planning onwards.

Here’s her (screen grab and save-to-photos) favourite bliss balls recipe. Packed with yumminess, from vanilla and peanut butter to chocolatey cacao and maple, it’s our go-to for a one-bite fibre and antioxidant boost.

Our favourite bliss balls recipe


  • 3 tbsp good-quality peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup vanilla-flavoured protein powder
  • ¼ cup ground almonds, or almond meal
  • 2 tbsp cacao chips
  • water to bind (as needed)


  • Pop wet ingredients into the bowl first, then dry ingredients and combine
  • Add water if required, to get to a moist roll-able texture
  • Roll into bite-sized balls
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or leave overnight, if you can wait!)
