We’ve rounded up some of the best fertility and IVF films that hit deep—plus where to stream them.

Note: We understand that some of these topics can be deeply personal and the following might include scenes that could be challenging or triggering for those currently on a fertility journey. Please take care while watching.

Documentaries about fertility

Katie Price: Making Babies (2025)

Katie Price: Making Babies is a deeply personal documentary that follows the former glamour model and media personality as she embarks on her journey to have a sixth child through surrogacy and fertility treatments.

Offering an intimate look at her struggles with past pregnancies, miscarriages, and the complexities of assisted reproduction, the film sheds light on the emotional and medical challenges of expanding her family. However, the documentary has sparked mixed reactions, with some praising its candid exploration of fertility issues while others question Katie’s motivations and past parenting controversies.

With its blend of raw emotion and reality TV drama, Making Babies has proven to be as divisive as its headline-making star.

Eggs Over Easy (2022)

This film is all about breaking taboos and opening up conversations around fertility in the Black community. The creative team behind it emphasise that knowledge is power – that when Black women have a better understanding of reproductive health and feel empowered to speak openly, they can take greater control over their fertility journeys.

Covering everything from egg donation and surrogacy to IVF and adoption, the film sheds light on experiences that are often overlooked in mainstream media. It amplifies Black women’s voices in the fertility conversation – something that’s long overdue.

We highly recommend watching – this is a perspective the world needs to see.

The Easy Bit (2019)

This compassionate film looks at six individual men and their perspectives on going through fertility treatment.

Men are often seen to be less affected by fertility problems, and the goal of this film is to right this wrong assumption and help men get through the process of dealing with male infertility.

Done in a ‘talking heads’ style, it’s really personal and relatable. Funny and moving in equal measure, it’s a great watch for both men and women.

Private Life (2018)

If you’re having a night in and having a scroll through Netflix, this would be the film to stop on. Following a couple in their 40s in New York trying to conceive, it’s an independent film full of comedy and honest observation about the world of fertility treatment. The story was inspired by the writer and director’s own fertility problems so it’s no surprise that it is often hailed for being such a realistic portrayal.

To end the list we’re throwing it back to a light hearted, British RomCom that stars Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson and even an appearance from Rowan Atkinson.

Following a perfect couple who have everything they want apart from a baby, it looks at their journey and the options they consider. Not the most serious on this list, it’s a good, uplifting maybe nostalgic film that includes a couple dealing with IVF and considering adoption.
